I am a Phd Student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). I am fortunately advised by Justine Sherry at CMU and by João Luís Sobrinho at IST. I am also thankful to keep a close working relationship with Michael Dinitz at Johns Hopkins University. Prior to starting graduate school, I was a Master's Student at IST, where I was also advised by João Luís Sobrinho.

My research interests are in the application of theoretical computer science to computer networking, namely to problems in internet routing, traffic engineering and network design.

My PhD thesis introduces the first formal investigation of the important problem of utilizing data-center networks fairly and efficiently having routing as the main design variable. Specifically, it designs new routing algorithms that allow these networks to behave as a (impossible to build) single switch connecting all sources to all destinations; a macro-switch is a fundamental networking abstraction that is highly desired by network operators, since it black-boxes the network from a performance modeling standpoint.
